Timeless and Temporary Components of Worship

This week’s video discusses several topics related to corporate worship based on Chuck Swindoll’s book, The Church Awakening. Discussing the essence and expression of worship as well as the essentials and non-essentials of worship are some of the important considerations. Is the pulpit an essential of worship? How about choir robes? Pastor wearing a suit? Take a look:

  1. Identify things that we have added to worship that really are not biblically necessary.
  2. Discuss Swindoll’s quote about self-centered vs. self sacrifice in relation to your church’s corporate worship. Does self-centeredness or self-sacrifice prevail?

When self-centered desires reign supreme, there will never be unity in the body of Christ, much less in worship.  But when self-sacrifice is the priority, unity falls into place. (Chuck Swindoll)

Great thoughts Kenny. I’ve shared it on FB and hope church members respond.
