Looking forward to being on mission together
Today, I am departing from my usual posts designed to help your church’s worship to let you know about the future of seeing NC Baptist churches on mission together. I will continue to develop resources and provide training for our churches as I come alongside our regional Great Commission Catalysts that will be assisting the churches in your areas.
Below is an article from our new Executive Director-Treasurer, Todd Unzicker.

Executive Director-Treasurer, Baptist State Convention of NC
In late August, a series of organizational changes were unanimously approved by our state convention’s executive committee aimed at advancing all of us forward as a movement of churches on mission together. We’ve been working toward implementing these changes, and I hope that our pastors, churches and ministry leaders across the state have already experienced positive effects from these moves.
These measures are the culmination of months of hard work, collaboration and prayer. From the day I was elected as your executive director-treasurer this past spring, I committed to the board of directors and the entire convention that I would take the first 100 days of my tenure to pray, listen, learn and plan about how God would best organize and staff us to be a convention that is on mission together.
As we see these plans taking shape, I want to remind you that your state convention staff is here for you. We are focused on providing relationships and resources that fuel missions partnerships in North Carolina. As part of our new structure, pastors, church staff and associational mission strategists will have dedicated convention staff members who live and work in the different geographic regions across our state.
We are anticipating with great excitement what God is doing and is going to do as we became a movement of churches on mission together.
These mission catalysts will be representatives for the convention and your primary point of contact in your area. If your church or association hasn’t heard from them yet, you should be hearing from them soon. The regional catalysts possess a wide range of ministry experience and expertise, and they can provide training, coaching, consulting, strategizing and mobilization for any ministry areas. They are your chief encouragement officers and stand with you to celebrate and strengthen the Great Commission work taking place in your area.
Additionally, our new structure includes a team of ministry strategists who are experts in their field to provide more in-depth and focused resources, training and strategy development in areas such as church planting, collegiate ministry, children, students, evangelism, discipleship, revitalization, worship and more. You convention staff will continue to be committed to serving and strengthening in any ministry God calls your church or association to do.
This is your convention. We are your servants. We are anticipating with great excitement what God is doing and is going to do as we became a movement of churches on mission together.
