This post has to be one of the hardest notices I have made in my many years of worship ministry. I cannot tell you how excited I have been about having Charity Gayle as part of this year’s Renewing Worship EXPO. The excitement across North Carolina and beyond was growing, and ticket sales for the EXPO were unprecedented.
More than a year ago, a friend in the worship music industry contacted me and offered to help take this year’s EXPO to another level. His company works with Charity Gayle, and he wanted to make it possible for us to have her at the EXPO. We worked out the financial details, my friend locked in a date with Gayle’s assistant, and we began promoting this great news to N.C. Baptists. His company was making all the arrangements with Gayle, and we were pitching in a percentage of the costs.
This week, we were made aware of an unforeseen scheduling conflict that prevents Gayle from participating as originally planned. Unfortunately, she has been contracted to perform in Europe that same weekend, and we’ve been informed that this commitment cannot be changed.
So today I come to you heartbroken with this news. We have suspended concert ticket sales. Our team is actively pursuing alternative artists, and will update you as soon as we have more details. Once the new plan is issued, those who purchased tickets for the Charity Gayle concert may keep their tickets or cancel them for a full refund. Those who have registered for the EXPO and do not have concert tickets, but would like to add those on, if applicable, will be able to log into their accounts to do so.
On another note, the number of breakout classes to be offered and the team of experts that will be present at the EXPO are growing every week. The day of the EXPO will be an amazing day of equipping and fellowship. I will be releasing an up-to-date listing of the breakout classes by the end of May.
